Story July 2010:
Once again I had to go to Madrid to do some service on our customers
aircraft in Spain. This time I brought with me what have now become my
lightweight HF-set, a YAESU FT-817 and an ELECRAFT T1 Auto Tuner.

I managed to work quite a few PSK-31 QSO's on 20 m! The antenna used this time was
a half wave dipole antenna for 20 m that was hanging from the ceiling of
the hotel. I used a box of olives at the bottom of the antenna to
straighten the antenna.
Radio Equipment July 2010:
YAESU FT-817 160 m - 70 cm HF/VHF/UHF Multimode Transceiver
ELECRAFT T1 Auto Tuner
Dipole antenna for 20 m
Switch Mode PS 12 VDC - 4,5 A
Story March 2010:
I had to go to Madrid to do some service on our customers aircraft in
Spain. Because of the short notice I didn't have time to get my HF
equipment with me, but I managed to locate a radio amateur store nearby
and bought myself an YAESU FT-817. On a local supermarket I found some
general purpose
utility wire and made a half wave dipole for
the 20 m band.

I managed to work only a few SSB QSO's on 20 m, but it was great fun! The antenna used this time was
a half wave dipole antenna for 20 m made out of general utility
wire. The antenna was placed between the window on
the hotel and a nearby hand rail.
Radio Equipment March 2010:
YAESU FT-817 160 m - 70 cm HF/VHF/UHF Multimode Transceiver
Dipole antenna for 20 m
Internal batteries
Story July 2009:
Once again, I and my
XYL wanted to escape the unreliable Norwegian summer, so we boarded a plane
set for Spain. This time we had our little 9 month old daughter with us. Most of
the time was spent relaxing, bathing and dining. In between all this
exhausting activity I managed to work some QSO's. :-)

Operating bands and modes 2009
I managed to work 27 DXCC, bringing my DXCC total from EA up to 32,
all of them worked with 10 watt from my IC-703. I was
active on 6 m, 10 m, 15 m, 17 m and 20 m. The antenna used this time was
a double half wave dipole antenna for 6 m and 20 m made out of speaker
cable. The antenna was placed on the same location used last time
between the roof and a nearby tree.
Radio Equipment 2009:
ICOM IC-703 160 m - 6 m HF/VHF Multimode Transceiver
ICOM IC-E92D 2 m/70 cm VHF/UHF FM/D-STAR Transceiver
Dipole antenna for 20 m
Dipole antenna for 6 m
Switch Mode PS 12 VDC - 5 A
Story July 2005:
My YL wanted to escape the unreliable Norwegian summer, so we boarded a plane
set for Spain. We stayed at my father-in-laws beautiful house in Jávea-Xàbia.
Luckily there are a lot of threes to support my antennas, and the house even has
an terrace on the roof! Both I and my YL likes us here! :-)

I managed to work 12 DXCC and several transatlantic
QSO's in SSB on the 20 m and 17 m using only 10 watts and a half wave dipole for
the 20 m band who was struck up between a tree in the garden and the roof of the
house I was staying.

The 20 m half wave dipole I used first in 2009. Later I built a new
antenna to get better reception on 6 m.

The new antenna built of speaker cable from a local hardware store. This
is a double half wave dipole for 6 m and 20 m (2009).
